Raspberry Pi Debian 10 Pixel – 32bit – NEWS about an Exton Build 201108
From my previous Debian Pixel Build 191102. Review all packages included in Build 201108 – latest 201108. I added NetworkManager and also Wicd which makes it easy to configure wireless connections. Choose the one that suits you.
The most important changes in Build 201108
This build replaces versions 161223, 170425, 180316, 180928, 190705, and 191102. I upgraded Raspbian / Debian from: Extend to Buster – Debian 10.6 stable. Also core from 4.19.0-6-686-pae 4.19.0-12-686-pae. I included the core 4.19.0-12-686will be used on old computers. PAE (Physical Address Extension) from 4 GB of physical memory addressable by the system 64 GB. Firefox is installed so you will have a browser when you log in as root. You cannot run Chromium as root. Another good thing about Firefox is that you can use it to watch Netflix movies. I uninstalled Chromium on build 201108. I could not see any advantage of holding it. You can run the system Fullscreen In VirtualBox. This is because VirtualBox’s Guest Additions are preinstalled. Watch this screenshot.

OLD NEWS FROM 161223
On December 22, 2016, a new project of the Raspberry Pi Foundation PIXEL Bootable image on PC or Mac. Check out this site. I immediately saw that the installer was not included, which was a bit disappointing. Consider Refracta Tools, which works very well on Debian and Ubuntu. I quickly “remixed” the Raspberry Pi Foundation PIXEL image. My remix includes Refracta Tools. This means that you can easily install the system on the hard drive and also easily make your own remix of the Raspberry Pi Foundation PIXEL image. I have added a few packages. About PIXEL Desktop
Raspbian made its biggest update ever in September 2016. A stunning new desktop environment called PIXEL. Raspbian (meaning “Pi Enhanced Xwindow Environment, Lightweight”) with PIXEL is a major software update to the desktop environment. It offers a clear new interface and is full of new programs and features.
VirtualBox and VMware
My build / image works very well in VirtualBox and VMware. That is, you can run the system directly from the ISO file and also install it on a virtual hard drive. Of course, you can also make your own Raspbian / Debian system with PIXEL Desktop. Refracta Snapshot (pre-installed). NOTERegarding: Build 201108, the system Fullscreen In VirtualBox. CORE
Core 4.19.0-12-686-pae Used in build 201108. PAE (Physical Address Extension) increases the addressable physical memory by the system from 4 GB to 64 GB. If you want to run the system on older computers (32bit), you should use a kernel. 4.19.0-12-686also included.
Logins and passwords
Login to PIXEL Desktop as ordinary user pi or as root. Passwords raspberry respectively root. You can use Sudo to be root when you log in as Pi. (Command: sudo su). When the Debian Pixel is run live (from a DVD or USB stick), you will be logged in automatically (after booting) as a user. pi X (PIXEL Desktop).
Windows Virtual Desktop in Azure
For a smoother Raspberry PI performance, a virtual computer like the azure windows virtual desktop, which can be the best option thanks to its top-level functionality and 24 * 7 first class support from a reliable desktop as a service provider.
Runs from RAM
Another great thing is that this build can be run from RAM. Use boot alternative 3 (Upload to RAM). When the system starts, you can remove the disc (DVD) or USB stick. You will need at least 4 GB of RAM to run the system this way. So super fast!
Spotify
You may want to run Spotify. In this version of Debian Pixel, you cannot install Spotify by command. Install sudo apt spotify client. There are too many unfilled addictions. With it, you can run Spotify Web Player. Use Firefox for this. Watch a screenshot while Spotify Web Player is running.
Important about refracta
You can use Refracta Snapshot (preloaded) to create your own. installable Raspberry Pi Debian 10 PIXEL system, after installing it on the hard disk. I mean, change everything and then create a completely new Debian live system. Start Refracta from Menu >> System tools >> Refracta snapshot. Even you must Before using Refracta Snapshot, install it on the hard drive made. If you have plenty of RAM, you can create a new (your own!) Debian PIXEL system while running my compilation from DVD or a USB stick. Please note that the entire Refracta process (creating your new ISO file) will only take 20 – 60 minutes! Please edit the /etc/refractasnapshot.conf config file first. Change lines 45 and 46. So decide where you want the ISO file created. Everything very simple. NOTEYou can also do everything in VirtualBox or VMware. Use FileZilla (pre-installed) to transfer your new ISO file to your server. Or use Samba to import the ISO file to one of your Windows computers on your home Network – screenshot. NOTE: Do it when logged in as root.
Install on Debian PIXEL hard drive
Launch Refracta Installer from Menu >> System tools >> Refracta Installer and follow the instructions. Very simple.
Install Debian PIXEL on a USB stick
You can Use Rufus on Windows. Persistence still cannot be enabled. The best way to do this is to burn Debian PIXEL to a DVD, boot the system from the DVD and then Refracta Loader for installation. Choose to install grub on / dev / sd in MBRb. (Normally it’s your USB stick, but check carefully!) So you will have a choice between / dev / sda and / dev / sdb. This method (of course) is perfect for you persistence.
